Founder | River Valley Dental

Building Dentistry Around People

For more than two decades, Dr. Mark Bydalek has practiced dentistry with a philosophy that was ahead of its time: exceptional dental care combines clinical expertise, advanced technology, genuine human connection, and an understanding that oral health is inseparable from overall well-being.

That philosophy became the foundation upon which River Valley Dental was built. As the founder of the practice, Dr. Bydalek has transformed what began as a community dental office into one of the region’s most technologically advanced practices, while preserving something he believes matters just as much—the time to listen, educate, and build meaningful relationships with every patient.

“What makes us different is the time we take in genuine knee-to-knee conversations, our passion for unreasonable hospitality, and our dedication to remarkable care.”

“I have come to except the highest levels of professionalism from the front desk team, to the hygienists, and the doctors. Start to finish, a stellar experience every time. The care is thorough and takes into consideration different levels of comfort.
I would not go anywhere else.”

Education & Training

Dr. Bydalek earned both his undergraduate degree and Doctor of Dental Medicine from Temple University, where he developed the strong clinical foundation that continues to guide his approach today.

From the beginning of his career, he was drawn to cosmetic and restorative dentistry because it represents the unique intersection of science, engineering, and artistic design. Every smile presents a different challenge. Restoring function requires precision, but creating a result that looks and feels completely natural requires an artistic eye. It is this combination of technical skill and creative vision that has become one of Dr. Bydalek’s defining strengths.

He remains committed to advanced continuing education and continually invests in the latest techniques, materials, and technology to ensure his patients receive care that reflects the highest standards of modern dentistry.

A Vision for Modern Dentistry

Innovation has always been central to Dr. Bydalek’s philosophy—not because technology alone makes dentistry better, but because the right technology allows patients to experience care that is more comfortable, precise, predictable, and personalized.

Under his leadership, River Valley Dental became the first practice in Hunterdon County to introduce the Solea drill-less laser, allowing many procedures to be completed comfortably without traditional drills or injections. He also brought CEREC same-day crowns, advanced 3D digital scanning, laser cavity detection, and other leading technologies into the practice, making sophisticated care available close to home rather than requiring patients to travel to larger metropolitan centers.

When Dr. Andrew Tang joined River Valley Dental, the partnership was a natural fit. Together, they share a commitment to combining advanced technology with compassionate, evidence-based care, allowing patients to receive comprehensive treatment from a team that continually raises the standard of what is possible.

Where Dentistry Meets Overall Health

Dr. Bydalek has long understood that oral health is deeply connected to the health of the entire body. That belief has shaped the way he cares for patients for years, making conversations around sleep, nutrition, inflammation, stress, airway health, and long-term wellness a natural part of his approach. He believes patients deserve to understand not only what is happening in their mouths, but why it matters to their overall health and quality of life.

His goal is not simply to repair teeth. It is to help people feel healthier, more confident, and better informed every time they leave the office.

Outside the Office

Long before becoming a dentist, Dr. Bydalek nearly pursued a career in art. That creative instinct continues to shape how he approaches dentistry today, influencing everything from smile design to problem-solving and patient care.

Away from the practice, he enjoys skiing, traveling, working on the family farm, cheering on Philadelphia sports teams, and spending time with his wife, Maureen, their children, Alexandria and Ian, and their growing families. Having raised his family in Hunterdon County, the community he serves is also the place he proudly calls home.

Dr. Mark Bydalek

FOUNDER, RIVER VALLEY DENTAL

“It is with great personal satisfaction and our Bydalek Dental team’s privilege to offer quality compassionate care to our community. We all know that where we live is nothing short of extraordinary. Our neighbors are hard working, engaged, interesting, and above all nice people that demand and deserve the best. We’ve worked hard as a family and team to build a service business that we are proud of and enjoy.”

Dentist. Artist. Farmer. Father to two awesome kids, Alexandria and Ian. Husband to Maureen. Grateful son. Diehard Hokie and Philly fan. Skier. SSI Diver. Outdoor enthusiast.

‍Dr. Bydalek was raised in a military and artistic family and grew up travelling. Declining a scholarship to pursue an art degree in his senior year in high school, Dr. Bydalek decided to combine his artistic talent from his mom’s Dutch side of the family, and follow in his dad’s footsteps, a retired Air Force dentist, to pursue the field of dentistry where he felt he could use his skills to make the greatest impact.

Dr. Bydalek obtained his undergrad at Temple University and then decided to remain at Temple for his doctorate at the Kornberg School of Dentistry. His passion in dentistry is cosmetic design because creating a new smile, or making a tooth that actually looks and functions like a tooth, takes time, talent and care to get it right. Staying on top of the latest advancements in dental care theory, technique and technology remains priority in his office and that is why he continues to invest in it. RiverValleyDental was the first practice in Hunterdon currently to offer Solea drill-less laser dentistry; in addition, the office has CEREC digital crown and implant dentistry, 3D Scan technology, Diagnodent laser cavity detection, and more.

Somewhere in throws of raising a family and beginning to really understand and value the necessity of proper nutrition, healthy lifestyle including enough sleep and exercise, Dr. Bydalek has decided to take on the current recommendation by the American Dental Association community to have a conversation with his patients with regard to their overall health and take ownership in playing a role in their overall care.

Dr. Andrew Tang

DENTIST, RIVER VALLEY DENTAL

Dr. Andrew Tang was born and raised by hard-working immigrant parents, who taught him the value of hard work and service to others. Growing up in Freehold, New Jersey, Dr. Tang held an intense interest in science, pursuing a degree in biotechnology at Rutgers University. During college, he assisted his grandfather, a now-retired general dentist, and found that he loved dentistry’s unique blend of artistry and medicine.

A lifelong Scarlet Knight, Dr. Tang obtained his doctorate from the Rutgers School of Dental Medicine. During his time there, he was very involved in dental research and was recognized for his work as part of the ADA/Dentsply Sirona Clinician Research program, speaking at dental conferences across the US. Since graduation, he has completed a residency training program at Hackensack University Medical Center and has worked in public health for underserved communities.

Outside of dentistry, Dr. Tang loves spending time with his fiancé, Steph, and their affectionate dog, Cosmo. An avid musician, he spends his days off playing guitar and writing/mixing electronic music.

With the firm belief that advances in technology can make quality dental care more comfortable and more accessible to patients, Dr. Tang is ecstatic to join Dr. Bydalek and RiverValleyDental’s commitment to excellence.
